Updates to Extrusion Packing Lines Bring Many Benefits to Vitex Customers

FRANKLIN, NH – May 5, 2018 – Vitex Extrusion announced today the completion of its pack line automation improvement plan. The company’s prior manual packing lines have been replaced with two automated pack line systems from Presezzi Extrusion, leading designer and manufacturer of advanced extrusion and plant automation systems. The new automated lines include an orbital stretch wrapping machine, which offers Vitex customers several advantages:

  • Stretch plastic wrapping creates tighter bundles, reducing the potential for surface damage from in-transit movement.
  • Visual identification of contents.
  • More uniform bundle formation for stacking, shipping, unloading, and customer storage.
  • Eliminates the costly process of disposing and recycling cardboard.
Extrusion Packing
Previous packaging with cardboard was time intensive, less stable and costly for customers.
Shrink wrapped packing
New automated plastic wrapping system provides greater bundle uniformity and stability and eliminates cardboard disposal costs for customers.

In addition, Vitex has added an automated profile stacking system to mitigate profile handling damage and increase production throughput.

This $900,000 investment is part of the company’s ongoing effort to update its plant with the most advanced technologies to improve product quality, minimize cycle times, and reduce labor costs. Improvements that translate into huge benefits for its customers.
